When is the time to reinvent yourself?

Sometimes success breeds success, but it can also be seductive and dangerous when you get “stuck” at a plateau of good fortune and prosperity. When business is good, it may seem obvious that you keep doing what you are doing so well. Profit and cash flow are great, but when they tempt you into a “heads down, nose to the grindstone”-type of attitude, you might well lose touch with your customer base.

Improving your current processes little by little is great! Except when it prevents you from trying some radically new things on a regular basis. Without innovation, every business will run into the ground, eventually. Business agility is about capitalizing on new opportunities – and doing so fast!

For some reason, success and taking deliberate and controlled risks don’t always go together so well. Especially when those innovations appear to chip away at the existing business model. But you know what: if you don’t, the competition will. It is only a question of who will get there first
